Paper Making
with Frances Daws
Saturday 15th March 1pm - 4pm
£55
Join us at Wildling Studio to take a moment in the calm of the studio surrounded by fellow Wildlings to learn a new skill or fine tune an existing one.
Spend an afternoon with local artist Frances Daws as she shows us how to recycle scrap paper and packaging into fresh handmade beautiful sheets. Frances will take you through the tactile and fun art of paper making using a mould and deckle. There will be demonstrations on how to use a mould and deckle, ‘couch’ the sheet and different options to dry the paper, before you have ago yourself. All using materials that are inexpensive and easily accessible. You will also be given instructions on making a mould and deckle so you can continue the craft at home.
Feel safe in the knowledge that this workshop is suitable for all - starting with complete beginners. Frances will spend time introducing us to her craft and support us in the delivery of our own unique creations.
We will of course pause for a warm drink and delicious sweet treats as is customary at the studio!
Take some time out for yourself, or enjoy the afternoon making memories with a friend or loved one. All tools and materials provided with all abilities welcome.

Find out more about Frances Daws
Frances Daws is a local award winning artist specialising in painting and various forms of printmaking including collagraph, monotype and lino printing. Her work is inspired by a love of nature and being outdoors. Whether it's the sea crashing against the Cornish coastline or a frosted over oak leaf in her local fields, these encounters form the ideas behind her semi-abstract paintings and intricate prints. As well as producing her own work she has a love of teaching and sharing skills and has six years experience in running workshops.
